About Us

Vera Ong

Hello, I am Vera.

I was formally a flight attendant with Singapore Airlines for almost 6 years, and quit flying in end of 2013 when I got pregnant. I have since lost my pregnancy (cried about it, depressed for a bit, felt angry about it), but I have moved on and am trying to get my health back on track and hopefully when time finds my hubby and I are ready again, we will be gifted with a baby again. :)

I am not employed at the moment due to 1) the above mentioned 2) I need a break 3) I still want to travel every now and then 4) I want to work on this blog and our online shop.

ShopVerarara is the product of many of my travels as I am still travelling with my hubby when he goes for his overseas work trips. I hand pick every single item from the beautiful countries that I go to, often lifestyle items but do keep a look out for the occasional fancy brands like Kate Spade, Coach and even Prada. I have even taken shopping orders on one of my overseas trip, so watch out for that shout out in this blog! (You may also wish to sign up for our email update for our blog posts so you won't miss it!)

So in case you're wondering, why Raisins and Muffins for the blog name? Raisin is the baby bunny soft-toy (*roll eyes*) who is dearly loved by my younger sister Jac. More introduction of Raisin all the way below...

And Muffins, she is my baby Exotic Shorthair kitty. My hubby bought it for us after we lost our pregnancy - to keep me company (especially when he is not around) and to cheer me up. Muffins has been very attached to me since she first came into our lives. Both my hubby and I give all our love that we were preparing for the baby we lost, to Muffins. She's like a real daughter to us...

My friend Sylvia said Muffins has a #restingbitchface LOL

If you would like to see more photos of my baby Muffins, you can follow me on Instagram: Verarara_

I have always wanted to record all the travels I did with my hubby, that I have been calling them Honeymoon in Parts (up to Part 61 now!). I have even bought scrap books to record them for memorandum...but I have never had the time to get started on it - LAZY! But now that I have this blog, I will be recording down all of our Honeymoons here and hopefully provide you (our readers) with some travel helps along the way!

Honeymoon Part 16 - London

You may wish to access the Honeymoon in Parts here:

Along the way, I will also be blogging a super wide range of topics like: beauty, food, cooking and even posts like my personal guides/advice on random matters - e.g. How To Have A Lasting Marriage (which is currently our highest viewed post as of 29 Sept 14!)

So anyway, I hope that in this blog you find something which makes you smile a little or maybe even cry a little, and if you like us, do email me at verararaong@gmail.com if you would like to be added into our emailing list for our blog post updates!

Jac Ong

Hi! I am Jac Ong, Vera's younger sister. I am the creator, designer and artist of Raisin Abby Designs. My Cards and Crafts as such are the results of my love for painting and inspirations of nature and beautiful things. I love the idea of the old fashioned way of passing on a greeting or a message. Which is by a card or a letter. Therefore, I really hope that my cards can put a smile on people's faces and make their day a little better!

I am not as active a blogger as Vera as I am currently busy with my job, painting my cards, cooking as well as preparing to further my studies soon!

You may wish to follow me on Instagram for the latest updates of new designs of cards and typography! Also, you may check out my other hobbies like cooking! I wont deny that I am an Instagram addict.

You may wonder, Who is Raisin Abby? Well, Raisin and Abby are actually 2 of the most adorable toy bunnies on this earth and they meant the world to me. They are the main inspiration to the brand RAD. I may sound a little looney, but I am also a secret seamstress who sew bunny clothes for my bunnies and I even have some matching dresses. (Okay enough judgements already! haha)

Culinary has been one of my greatest hobby of all time, I would consider myself a great home cook. (Sorry but it's true!) I try to document my culinary adventures via my Facebook or you may follow my other instagram account solely dedicated for my food creations. Also, I'll be extremely glad to answer any queries or tips that you might have if you decide to cook something. Free of charge of couse!

I first started painting when I laid my hands on my first acrylic paint set and got inspired by calm therapeutic looking seas. My inspirations from Canvas art derive mainly from natural landscapes. Check out my acrylic painting from the link above! If you have a photo which you would like to have it painted in canvas, drop me an email and I'll be glad to make your wish come true!
